How to use the search functionality on the Rights of Way map

Step 1: Access the Map Page

Step 2: Navigate to the Search Tool. On the map page, locate and click on the "Search" button. This will open the search functionality.

Step 3: Input Search Queries. In the search bar, you can input various types of information, including:

  • Street and Place Names:
    • Example: "Main Street," "City Park," "Riverside Avenue"
  • Postcodes:
    • Example: "SW1A 1AA," "M3 5AS," "EH1 3DG"
  • OS Grid References:
    • Example: "SU123456" "NY987654" "TQ567890"
  • Path Codes (Routecodes):
    • Example: "081/81/1," "333/21/3a" "34/3"
  • Furniture Codes:
    • Example: "081/3" "33/1" "12/11"

Step 4: Initiate the Search. After entering your search query, click the "Search" button or press Enter to initiate the search.

Step 5: Review Search Results. A list of search results will be displayed. Each result corresponds to a location on the map. Review the results to find the information you're looking for.

Step 6: View Location on the Map. Click on any of the search results to view its location on the map. The map will automatically zoom in to show the selected location.

Step 7: Combine Search with Info Tool. For more detailed information about features on the map, you can combine the search with the "Info" tool. After selecting a search result, use the "Info" tool to obtain additional details about the chosen location.

Step 8: Exploring Further. Explore the map by combining search queries and using the "Info" tool to gather comprehensive information about different features, paths, and points of interest.
